Morrison County Mugshot Law

Minnesota law treats booking photographs as public law enforcement data in many cases. Minn. Stat. 13.82, subdivision 26, defines a booking photograph as a photograph or electronic image taken by law enforcement for identification in connection with an arrest. The same subdivision says a booking photograph is public data unless another rule applies.

The law also allows temporary withholding if the agency determines that access would harm an active investigation. A denial or delay should be tied to a data classification or stated reason. Subdivision 2 of the same statute makes certain adult arrest data public at all times, including time, date, place, legal basis, agency identity, whether and where the person is held, and transfer-of-custody details.

Morrison County Mugshot Limits
